Watson families! Testing begins tomorrow. Our amazing teachers have poured their hearts into preparing our students — and now, it’s our turn as a school community to lift them even higher. Tonight, please help us set the tone by ensuring your child gets a good night’s sleep. In the morning, make sure they have time to eat a healthy breakfast — whether at home or here at school — and arrive ready to give their best. Encourage your child with a few kind words. Let them know you believe in them — because we certainly do. They’ve worked hard, and we are so proud of the growth they’ve already shown. Thank you for all you do. It’s because of parents like you that our #EaglesSOAR higher every day. Let’s make tomorrow a great start!

LRSD continues to monitor weather conditions and has NO plans to dismiss early at this time. However, all after-school activities are canceled. If adjustments need to be made to our plans, we will contact you immediately.Please monitor your messages from LRSD for updates. Thanks!

Good afternoon, parents: Watson experienced power outages today due to a transformer fire, which also affected our phones. Students remained safe and the day continued smoothly. Entergy is working on repairs. Please check your email, texts, and our social media for updates.

Due to the threat of severe weather moving into our area, LRSD will dismiss school early today, all after-school activities are cancelled, and CARE will be closed. Elementary sites will dismiss at 1:30 p.m., followed by secondary schools at 2:30 p.m. This decision was made in the best interest of students and staff, in consultation with the National Weather Service, LRSD’s Emergency Management and Transportation teams, and surrounding districts. Please note that if tornado sirens are activated during these dismissal times, we will initiate our shelter-in-place procedures, and building doors will be locked until the threat has passed. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Please stay safe.

Families, Students on Bus A have been brought back to the school as the bus was unable to enter the neighborhood. Parents will need to pick up their students from the school. Please contact the school with any questions. Watson Elementary

Watson Elementary Families! Due to an evacuation in the bus zone area, students riding Bus B will not be able to be dropped off this afternoon. Parents will need to pick up their students directly from the school. Watson Elementary

Mrs. Charlotte Cook-Bomar of Watson Elementary and Mrs. Krystal Williams of Dr. Marian G. Lacey K-8 Academy have received the AGATE Educator Recognition Award. Mrs. Cook-Bomar also received the Curriculum Award for outstanding work in gifted education. LRSD celebrates these incredible educators for dedication to supporting and inspiring GT students!
