🏆 Little Rock Southwest High School DECA Marketing students had an outstanding showing at the State Career Development Conference in Hot Springs! Kaitlyn Braswell, Kayla Caldwell, Omarai Williams, Sapharia Dobbins, and Deonta Mitchell each received a medallion in their respective events. Jonathan Worrell placed 2nd in the state in Human Resource Management, earning a glass plaque and a spot at the National Conference in Orlando, Florida. 🎶 Congratulations to the Little Rock Central High Choir members selected for the 2025 Arkansas All-State Choirs! Out of 28 students who auditioned, 18 earned a spot, with 17 scoring 20/26 or higher in sight-reading— including nine perfect scores! 👏🎵 These talented vocalists, led by director Christy Fudge, will showcase their skills at the All-State Clinics and Concerts on February 20-22 in Hot Springs. Way to go, Tigers! 🐅🎤

Brady Elementary has earned the Project ADAM Heart Safe School designation, demonstrating its commitment to emergency preparedness. With support from LRSD Health Services, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and local first responders, staff have trained to respond effectively to medical emergencies. 🎶 Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School music students had an incredible opportunity to learn from Eric Fells, a Berklee College of Music graduate and proud Parkview alum! As a musician, composer, producer, and teacher, he shared valuable insights and experiences that left a lasting impact.


Pinnacle View Middle School’s Sara Chen took first place at the Pulaski County Spelling Bee, securing her victory with the word capillary. Her win is a proud moment for LRSD, showcasing her hard work and dedication. She will advance to the state competition in March—good luck, Sara!

🔬 Central High School’s STEM Fair showcased several innovative student projects today, making it one of the largest yet! From AI-driven cancer research to optimizing skyscraper design, students tackled cutting-edge topics with creativity and skill. LRSD students made a strong showing at the District V FBLA Spring Leadership Conference, bringing home top awards in multiple events. Several chapters representing JA Fair, Mann, Pinnacle View, and Pulaski Heights middle schools earned recognition for membership growth, and students placed in categories like Business Graphics, Public Speaking, Website Design, and Career Exploration. With numerous top-five finishes and newly elected student leaders, LRSD’s future business leaders are now preparing to compete at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in April. Congratulations to all participants!


Chicot Elementary students celebrated World Read Aloud Day by reading to their peers across different grade levels. They showed kindness, confidence, and excitement as they shared stories together. This special day highlighted the importance of reading at every age and the power of storytelling.


National Signing Day was a proud moment for student-athletes across LRSD. Little Rock Central High School had nine football players sign their letters of intent, while Little Rock Southwest High School celebrated three signees. February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month! At LRSD, students get hands-on learning, industry certifications, and real-world skills that lead to college and career success. With several career pathways at Metro Career Tech, including programs in Automation, LPN Nursing, and Cybersecurity, students can jump-start their futures in high-demand fields. Little Rock Central High School’s Jason McCann kicked off The American Student art show at Thea Foundation. Guests enjoyed an evening of art, conversation, and refreshments from Heritage Catering. The exhibition, sponsored by Delta Dental of Arkansas, highlights McCann’s unique perspective and talent. Those who missed the opening can still visit the gallery during the Argenta Third Friday Art Walk on February 21 or during regular gallery hours, Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.


Carver STEAM Magnet Elementary School kicked off Black History Month with an assembly in the cafeteria! Students and staff came together to honor the history, culture, and achievements of African Americans through special presentations.
