Jackson Jones with the State Board of Education

Jackson Jones, a senior at Little Rock Central High School, was honored this morning by the Arkansas State Board of Education for his outstanding work with his nonprofit, Fostering Friendships. Jackson launched the organization to build meaningful connections between high school students and children in foster care or at risk of entering the foster system.

Fostering Friendships creates opportunities for these children to experience the joys of companionship through shared activities such as board games, sports, and more. What started as Jackson’s vision in 11th grade has now blossomed into a community effort, with many of his peers joining in to support his mission.

The Little Rock School District is incredibly proud of Jackson’s achievements and leadership in fostering kindness, empathy, and understanding within our community. His recognition by the State Board of Education highlights the lasting impact that students like Jackson can make on the lives of others.

We look forward to seeing Fostering Friendships continue to grow as Jackson plans to further his work with the nonprofit after high school.
