The Little Rock School District and community partner, First Security Bank, are celebrating a remarkable achievement in an in-school bank program. Students from Stephens Elementary, Washington Elementary, Gibbs International Magnet Elementary, and J.A. Fair K-8 Preparatory Academy collectively exceeded $100,000 in savings.
Now in its eighth year, the program allows students to open savings accounts with the support of First Security Bank. Students also receive hands-on training as bank tellers, gaining valuable experience handling financial transactions and developing customer service skills.
The initiative promotes financial literacy and helps students build essential money management skills. In addition to learning practical financial concepts, students are introduced to potential career paths in the banking industry.
As the program thrives, it underscores LRSD’s commitment to preparing students for future success in personal finance and the workforce.
