Teach Plus Arkansas

The Little Rock School District announces that six of its educators have been chosen to participate in the prestigious 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellowship. This program, designed to empower teachers in shaping education policy and practice, brings together a group of 31 dedicated educators from across the state to advocate for student-centered reforms.

The LRSD educators selected as 2024-2025 Policy Fellows are:

  • Anthony Bland, Little Rock Central High School

  • Gwendolyn Critton, Forest Heights STEM Academy

  • Jennifer Ekeanyanwu, Carver STEAM Magnet Elementary School

  • Kimberly Trotter, JA Fair K-8 Preparatory Academy

  • Kimberly Washington, Horace Mann Magnet Middle School

Additionally, Tiffaney Lewis, from Forest Heights STEM Academy, was selected as a Senior Policy Fellow.

The Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellowship addresses key issues such as evidence-based instruction, early literacy, mental health awareness, and fostering diverse teaching staff. The program equips educators to take on leadership roles, both within their own schools and at the state level, ensuring that the voices of teachers and the needs of students are central to decision-making.

LRSD congratulates these outstanding educators and looks forward to their contributions to the future of education in Arkansas.
