Congratulations to new LRSD Board member Joyce Walker Wesley, sworn in on Thursday, September 22, 2022, as the newest director for the District’s Board of Education. Wesley will represent Zone 9, replacing outgoing member Jeff Wood who was recently appointed to the Arkansas Board of Education by Governor Asa Hutchinson.
The LRSD Board voted to appoint Wesley, who was running unopposed for Zone 9, early - ahead of the November election. Wesley, who has a private practice and also works at the Little Rock Air Force Base, is a mental health therapist. LRSD is proud to welcome Ms. Wesley to the Board.
LRSD also thanks Mr. Wood for his service. Wood originally began his tenure with LRSD as a member of the Community Advisory Board before being duly elected to the newly established Board in 2019.
