To report your child's absence please call (501)447-3273 prior to noon each day. This does not include tardies or early check-outs. This is a recorded line that is checked daily.
If you receive an automated call from the school indicating an absence, it may be the result of not reporting an absence or an administrative oversight. You are welcome to contact the school to verify.
Check Outs: You have to be listed on the student's approved check-out list, and have a copy of your identification.
To minimize disruptions to the end-of-the-day procedures, students should not be checked-out after 3:15 PM.

STRIVE (Seeking to Reinforce My Identity and Values Every Day) is a school and community-based mental health outreach program operated by UAMS and the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute. Our program mission is to provide mental health services to students who are having emotional and/or behavioral issues in school and at home so that they learn new skills needed to be successful in life.

1. GRADE LEVEL ASSEMBLIES:
Today we are having grade level assemblies. Students will be called on the intercom when it is time for their teacher to escort them to the auditorium.
6th grade-1st period
7th grade-3rd period
8th grade-4th period
2. FREE PHYSICAL:
LRSD is providing free physicals on Friday August 16th. A bus will take you from PHMS to children’s hospital. Please see one of the coaches to get the forms needed. The deadline for returning the forms will be Wednesday August 14th.
3. PARENT MEETING:
All Sports parent meeting for 7th and 8th graders only with the exclusion of 6th grade pep club will be Thursday August 15th at 6:00 in the gym. Information on 6th grade sports will be provided at a later date.
4. PHMS AMBASSADORS:
Attn 8th graders that are interested in being a PHMS ambassador please stop by Ms. Erwin’s office.
5. LUNCH MENU:

There will be an all sports parent meeting on Thursday, August 15th at 6:00 PM in the PHMS gymnasium.
This meeting is for 7th and 8th grade sports and 6th grade pep squad. Information on 6th grade football, volleyball, and basketball will be available at a later date.

Next week's Parent Meeting scheduled for Friday, August 9th is an opportunity for families to visit the campus, retrieve their tentative schedules, and receive LRSD/PHMS updates. It is not necessary to plan for a 2-hour meeting. We will gather briefly in the auditorium to provide a welcome and updates after which we'll release families throughout the building to visit classrooms. Consider this event as an "orientation" for returning students.
