The Little Rock School District proudly announces that several of its students have been recognized with AP Scholar Awards, a prestigious academic distinction granted by the College Board. These awards honor students who have demonstrated exceptional performance on their Advanced Placement (AP) exams, showcasing their dedication and academic excellence.
The AP Scholar Awards are categorized into different levels based on the student's achievements:
AP Scholar: Awarded to students who score 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. This recognition reflects the students' broad knowledge and mastery of college-level coursework across various subjects.
AP Scholar with Honor: Granted to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. This distinction highlights the students' consistent academic performance across multiple challenging subjects.
AP Scholar with Distinction: Awarded to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. This honor is reserved for students who demonstrate exceptional academic prowess and a deep commitment to their studies.
AP Capstone Diploma: Given to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, along with four additional AP exams of their choice. This diploma signifies the students' ability to conduct in-depth research, analyze complex issues, and present well-supported arguments.
AP Seminar and Research Certificate: Granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research. This certificate recognizes the students' strong foundational skills in research, analysis, and communication.
These academic distinctions are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of LRSD students, who have excelled in rigorous, college-level coursework. Although the AP Scholar Awards do not come with a monetary prize, they are valuable credentials that students can proudly include on their college applications and résumés.
