Please review the attached letters for important information regarding the new Arkansas Assessment System-ATLAS. Students in these grades will soon take beginning of the year assessments within the new system. Once results are made available, families will have access to their child's results online. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Just two weeks into the 2024-2025 school year and our student leaders are going strong! This week students led our Leader in Me/PBIS Kick-off to ensure positive conduct expectations are followed by all! We had music, dance, videos, and presentations. Chicot=Leadership! @lrsd
Reminder: Monday is the deadline to vote for your favorite pic in the "Dads Take Your Child to School" contest. Plus, some lucky winners will enjoy fantastic prizes, including tickets to the upcoming Razorback game, a golf game for four at the Country Club of Arkansas on September 20th, or a parking pass and admission for four to the Arkansas State Fair! This year, our school is excited to offer the Chicot 21st Century Program, a FREE opportunity for selected students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The 21st Century Program provides participants with academic support and a variety of fun enrichment activities, including art, dance, drones, STEM, broadcasting, soccer, and more.
The program will run from Monday, September 9th, through Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, on Mondays and Wednesdays only, from 3:00 PM to 5:45 PM. Free meals will be provided to all students in the program.
Please note that the Chicot 21st Century Program is state-funded and has limited capacity, so not all students will be accepted. If your child is selected, you will receive an acceptance letter. If not, your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list, and you will be notified if a spot becomes available.
Online registration opens today, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, and closes on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 5:00 PM. You can register your child using the following link: https://forms.gle/wgVAsfBP8EAMEbaH8. A QR code is also available for easy sign-up!

Good Evening Chicot Families! Thanks for your patience as everyone gets accustomed to new routines. We promise...the time required for dismissal will get faster with each day! You'll be amazed at the improvements in time by the end of the week. As a reminder, K-5 families will use the last entrance behind the playground for arrival and dismissal. In the morning, only families walking students inside should enter the main parking lot. Thanks in advance for your continued partnership to ensure the safety of all! We are looking forward to another great day!
First Day Success! Great students, amazing families, committed volunteers, and an incredible staff all came together to kick-off a great start to the 2024-2025 school year. Special thanks to volunteers from the City of Little Rock, F.L.A.M.E. Little Rock Chapter IABPFF (Little Rock's Black Firefighters Association), and parents for assisting with morning arrival and sharing positive vibes with all. Smiles, music, bubbles, high fives, and hugs were in abundance!
Good Afternoon,
We will begin dismissal at 2:55 pm. Below are important reminders:
1) Families picking up K-5 car riders must use the last entrance behind the school playground. Follow the paw prints along the fence to our main door.
2) If you have a child at our Early Childhood Center (ECC), you may enter the first entrance to pick-up your ECC child and wait at the top of the steps for your elementary student. We will have a designated staff member assigned to call your elementary student(s).
3) Families do not enter the main parking lot or the building during dismissal. All K-5 families must use one of the above ways to pick up a car rider.
4) Please be patient and remain in your vehicle. It will take longer to dismiss the first few days. We promise we will get faster as everyone settles in with the new school year!
