The Leader In Me Difference
What is Leader in Me?
Leader in Me is a Whole-School Improvement model. The model focuses on empowering students with leadership and life skills that they need to thrive in the 21st Century. There are five core paradigms that serve as the foundation for Leader in Me:
Paradigm of Leadership - Everyone Can Lead
Paradigm of Potential - Everyone has Genius
Paradigm of Change - Change Starts with Me
Paradigm of Empowerment - Educators Empower Students to Lead their Own Learning
Paradigm of Education - Develop the Whole Person
We know that every student that comes into our school has genius and is a leader. Stephens students thrive in a nurturing environment when they feel safe, confident, and supported by teachers and other staff members. By recognizing each child as a leader with unique gifts and talents to share, all aspects of their education begin to flourish. This social and emotional learning process equips students with essential skills to build meaningful relationships and take ownership of their education.
What are the 7 Habits?
The 7 Habits are foundational principles that can be used to guide all aspects of one's life. No matter the age of person, the 7 Habits serve as an anchor for self and for engaging with others. At the school level, students are introduced to the 7 Habits through in-class lessons and by integrating principles through a schoolwide culture. This can be seen in variety of unique and creative ways, including, but not limited to hallway murals and signs, classroom art, school songs, student speeches, leadership roles, and service projects. Stephens students learn and live the 7 Habits.
