COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING

Pursuant to Act 237 of 2023, AR LEARNS, all current students who are set to graduate in the academic year 2026-2027 or beyond, are required to complete a minimum of seventy-five (75) clock hours of documented community service prior to graduation.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING?

  • Students engage in activities to meet actual community needs as an integrated aspect of curriculum.

  • Students engage in active learning addressing mutually defined community needs.

  • Students engage in community service activities with intentional academic and learning goals with opportunities for reflection that connect to academic disciplines.

Do Not Fret! Allow us to help!

Since this is now a requirement for graduation, Parkview wants to provide as many opportunities as possible for you to get the hours through school. Make sure to pay attention to Schoology announcements for volunteer opportunities!

Students may also do community service activities on their own time. Just make sure the organization students want to volunteer for is on the LRSD approved list. LRSD Community Service Partner List.

IMPORTANT: Tracking Hours

Hours that you complete at school in class or with a club or sports team will be entered by a teacher or staff member. If you have earned community service hours OUTSIDE of a school club/team/class project you can enter your own hours at the link below.

You'll need to enter your student ID and birthday to log in. Please be sure that the organization you completed service with is on the approved list, which can be found at the LRSD Service Learning Page.
