Transfers into LRSD for non LRSD residents
Arkansas School Choice
Families in the state of Arkansas may apply to attend a district other than the one in which they reside, subject to certain restrictions. Applications will be available at the Student Registration Office for students from various counties in Arkansas. If granted, no transportation will be provided by the district. Seats are subject to availability. Interested parents must come to the Student Registration Office to apply. For an Arkansas School Choice application -- click here. All required documentation must be submitted with an application. The application must be time/date stamped. The application window is from January 1st - May 1st.
Legal Transfers/Board to Board
A Legal Transfer Application/Board to Board must be completed in order for a parent/guardian to request a transfer for their student to attend a school outside of their school district's attendance zone. The Legal Transfer Application must be completed in the resident district first. If approved by the resident district Superintendent/Board of Directors, the application will then be forwarded to the non-resident District for approval.
Completed applications may be delivered to the LRSD Student Registration Office at 501 Sherman Street, or email to SRO@lrsd.org ATTN Andre Williams

Requests for transfers between LRSD schools during the school year
Transfers during the school year can be disruptive for students and schools and are generally not permitted. After the first three weeks of each semester, transfers are not permitted between LRSD schools except in the below limited circumstances with documented evidence. Transfers are not guaranteed and will only be made if there is available space at the school requested. No transfers between LRSD schools will be made in the last months of school (after April 30).
