The Elementary Education Department is responsible for the smooth operation of all elementary schools. There are 21 school campuses and three academies that serve about 13,000 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grades. The Department organizes quality and relevant training and professional development for elementary principals. 

Dr Karen Bradshaw serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Tier 2 elementary schools.

Dr Amy Cooper serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Tier 3 elementary schools

The Elementary Education Department works with Tier 2 and 3 Assistant Superintendents and the Superintendent to provide additional resources to principals and schools in an effort to increase student achievement. The Department also facilitates elementary after-school and summer programs.
