Some teachers will do just about anything to help their students do their best on the Benchmark, or ACTAAP, standardized exams. Patricia Erwin, counselor and testing coordinator at Pulaski Heights Elementary, helped to take the "edge" off the Benchmark by pulling together a band to entertain the students at her school.
These teachers wanted to help students understand that the instruction they've received was a cumulative effort, and that they are supported in giving back their best on the test. By helping students understand testing strategies through fun activities such as this "Rock Concert," students can be relieved of the stress that comes with such an important test and simply apply what they know without fear.
