 Students at McDermott Elementary have been participating in recycling by collecting Capri Sun pouches, used ink cartridges, and aluminum tabs from cans.  On October 21, in order to promote more recycling efforts and greater understanding of the recycling process, the students were visited by Ted Carlisle, Supervisor for Waste Management.  Mr. Carlisle brought a recycling truck and demonstrated how the truck operates.  Also, Barbara Meier, a Recycling Program Educator from Public Works, shared information with the students about why recycling is important to the future.
