PCSSD closes schools due to flooding

May 02, 2011 ·

The Pulaski County Special School District has closed 26 schools today (Monday, May 2) due to weather conditions and current and projected flooding and road closures. PCSSD began sending students home at 11:30 a.m. today.

LRSD schools ARE NOT closing at this time.

PCSSD is sending buses to pick up all M to M and magnet students who live North of the Arkansas River.  They will start arriving at 11:30am.  The reason for this is that all road accesses are being flooded.  They are trying to get the students home before they become stranded.

LRSD will dispatch buses to pick-up students who are attending the affected schools in PCSSD: Clinton Elementary, Cato Elementary, Tolleson Elementary, Bayou Meto, Dupree Elementary, Taylor Elementary, Northwood Middle, North Pulaski High, Jacksonville Elementary, Jacksonville Middle, Jacksonville High, Star Academy, Adkins Elementary, Pinewood Elementary, Harris Elementary, Fuller, Mills, PCSSD Learning Academy, College Station, Sylvan Hills Elementary, Sylvan Hills Middle, Sylvan Hills High, Murrell Taylor, Oakbrooke, Sherwood Elementary and Arnold Drive. These schools also will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, May 3)
